Run the profile and in the Minecraft main menu, click Mods to confirm they have loaded correctly.To install a mod, copy the mod file into this folder.From the profile panel where you named and selected your Forge version, click the folder icon next to Game directory.Run the profile once before adding mods to make sure Forge has installed correctly.Click News and select your new modded profile to begin playing.Add a \yourprofilenamehere to the end of the game directory.Click the grey box next to Game directory to turn it green.Change the Version drop-down to the version of Forge you just installed.Change the ‘Name’ to whatever you like.You will see the new profile panel with various options.You will see this message once the installation is finished.Forge will begin downloading the files it needs.The installation directory will fill in automatically.Run the file that you downloaded from the Forge website by double clicking it.Make sure that you have run the Minecraft launcher and opened vanilla Minecraft at least once.As long as you are on the official website, the file is safe to keep and use.
Your PC may question the security of the download.For other operating systems click Installer.If you are using Windows, click Windows Installer.You can also click Show all Versions for further options.Choose either Download Latest or Download Recommended.Make sure you have the correct Minecraft version selected.We always recommend using a launcher that is more suited to modded Minecraft such as the Twitch launcher but these steps will allow you to easily get a modpack ready to play with the standard launcher.
